I spent 20+ years in the Corporate World, the majority of which was in Sales Management positions, and although I consistently earned a healthy six-figure income I never really felt fulfilled or that I was really making a difference in the world.  I felt I couldn’t make a change because of family and financial obligations.  I felt the frustration that you may currently be feeling or have felt in the past.

The day the ‘light came on ‘ for me was after having lunch with my daughter.  She had recently graduated from college and had started her career as an elementary school special-ed teacher.  

We were discussing how underpaid teachers are and the whole injustice of society’s pay structure.  But I told her that true wealth doesn’t come from money but rather from helping people, from following your passion, from knowing that you made a difference in someone’s life, from feeling good about yourself at the end of the day, and how proud of her I was because she had opted to go into teaching instead of just using her degree to chase big money. 

We talked about how important it is to look forward to going to your job and being enthusiastic and positive each day…that if you do something you like you never really feel like it’s work.

So when I got home it hit me….why couldn’t I feel good about what I do…why can’t I do something that I’m passionate about…why can’t I do something that makes a difference in people’s lives…why can’t I be excited about going to work.  Guess I was good at giving advice but not practicing it.

So I decided enough was enough.  I was tired of working long hours to make someone else’s dreams come true.  I was tired of hating Mondays, and always looking forward to Fridays.  I was tired of giving more and more to a corporation and it turning out to never be enough.  I was tired of the outsourcing, downsizing, and misrepresentations initiated from the corporate executive teams for the sake of the stock price and the almighty dollar.

I put a resume together, placed it on the internet and received a letter about an opportunity to start a home based business within the Personal Development industry.  I really had no idea what the Personal Development industry was, but responded and had a nice conversation with a lady that had previously been in the same field as me.  

To make a long story short, I did my due diligence and realized I had found something that could provide those things I had talked to my daughter about…helping people…knowing you made a difference…feeling good at the end of the day…being excited about going to work…and all with the opportunity to have the six-figure income I was accustomed to.
